| Police receive donation for fingerprint equipment
The Hanford Police Department now has the equipment to process complex crime scenes after receiving a $2,000 donation from Valley Toyota General Manager Mike Vitale."We didn't have the equipment necessary to process a complex crime scene," Lt. Parker Sever said. "The Department of Justice had to come down and do it for us."Now we can do it ourselves."The equipment includes a Nikon 10-megapixel digital camera, special lenses to allow for high-quality fingerprint photos, tools to enrich details when dusting for prints and additional supplies for fingerprint comparisons."I realize that there was a need for us to get this equipment, but I went in there not really expecting anything," Sever said. "There was no hesitation. I went in and walked out with $2,000." .
